The best of both worlds. Combine formal education with our outdoor learning approach to create a personalised learning journey for your child.

Rooted in outdoor education principles, our approach recognises that not all learning happens best within four walls. Through hands-on experiences in natural settings, children engage with real-world challenges, develop resilience, and build confidence at their own pace.
In the outdoors, learning becomes active, meaningful, and deeply connected. Whether exploring ecosystems, building practical skills, or collaborating on creative projects, students are encouraged to follow their curiosity and discover their strengths. Our flexible model adapts to individual learning styles, supporting learners who thrive through movement, sensory engagement, and experiential activities.
By combining personalised learning pathways with the restorative power of nature, Flexi-School nurtures academic growth, emotional wellbeing, and social development — empowering every child to feel capable, valued, and inspired.
Little Bugs Nurseries offer fully outdoor settings in the Scottish woodlands, providing children aged 2 to 12 with unique learning experiences through nursery care and flexible schooling options. Our locations include Fordell Firs in Dunfermline and Abercorn on the Hopetoun Estate near South Queensferry.
We focus on child-led, play-based learning, encouraging exploration, creativity, and curiosity. Using national frameworks such as the Curriculum for Excellence, we support children's development with a nurturing approach.
Our ethos emphasises risky play to build resilience and confidence, while fostering an understanding of sustainability and stewardship of the environment. We aim to reconnect children with nature, prioritising their health, well-being, and development through outdoor learning.
